Invitation

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Dear Friends,

I hereby confirm that the next 3rd General Assembly of the African Network of Basin Organizations – ANBO will take place from 4 to 7 MARCH 2007 in JOHANNESBURG in SOUTH AFRICA, at the invitation of the South-African Department of Water Resources and Forestry, in the Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre.

On the occasion of this international conference, several workshops will be jointly organized with the Network of International Commissions and Transboundary Basin Organizations – INTBO, as the topics planned for water resources management in Africa are of prime importance.

The work of the General Assembly of JOHANNESBURG will be thus organized around five broad strategic topics for the good implementation of basin management of transboundary rivers, lakes and aquifers in Africa and over the World:

There will be simultaneous translation into English and French.

Registration to the workshops is free of charge.

The meeting is open to all ANBO Member Organizations and Permanent Observers, and also to the water Administrations and organizations, interested in Integrated Water Resources Management in transboundary basins all over the World.

You are invited to present a paper on your field experience.

The South-African Minister for Water and Forestry will open the meeting on Monday 5 March .

A technical tour will be organized on March 7th at Vaal Dam and VRESAP pipeline.

Any useful information, programs and proposed papers will be continuously available on the websites: www.omvs-soe.org/raob.htm and www.inbo-news.org.
