Capacity building, support to the implementation of an Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) process and support to IWRM governance scheme -Component 3.2
The project in brief
The activities of the Sub-Component 3.2 of the WAT4CAM program are following the logical framework of intervention with a bottom-up perspective:
- Component 1: Support and improve long-term implementation of IWRM in the Stung Sen basin, in coordination with the activities from the institutional project financed by the French Water Agencies (Loire Bretagne and Rhin-Meuse).
- Component 2: IWRM consolidation at Tonle Sap level, integrating the experiences acquired in the various pilot projects of the Tonle Sap basin and financed by several international agencies in order to support MOWRAM in redefining an IWRM model and associated tools fitting the Cambodian context.
- Component 3 : Strengthening IWRM process in the Stung Sangker basin, a new pilot for IWRM, considering lessons learnt at basin and regional level.
OiEau’s missions
- Componente 1 : Realise hydrological study in the Stung Sen basin; Involvement of the Farmer Water Users Communities in the planning activities of the Stung Sen; Revitalize the participation of Stung Sen Executive Basin Committee and Working Groups .
- Componente 2 : Preparation of the IWRM Consolidation report; Preparation of a draft Tonle Sap basin profile; Organise exchange between basin committees; Preparation of a policy paper spporting IWRM at the Tonle Sap level.
- Componente 3 : Support to the preparation of a draft Stung Sangker basin profile; Supporting the creation of the Stung Sangker River basin management committee with basin stakeholders; Lead discussions among concerned stakeholders on water quantity allocation within the basin; Preparation of a strategy for IWRM implementation in the Stung Sangker basin.
