The North American Network of Basin Organizations (NANBO) is a non-profit organization created in October 2009. Its mission is to promote and advance the science and practice of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) at the basin scale in North America.
It ensures the sharing of knowledge and experience between basin organizations, local authorities, national administrations and financial institutions working in North America and the West Indies.
The Quebec watershed organisations (ROBVQ) is one of ROBAN’s most active members.
ROBAN organizes activities:
- Networking (face-to-face and online) to develop lasting relationships between organizations interested in integrated watershed management, and to enable the exchange of information, experience and expertise between them.
- Training and professional capacity-building for its members, as well as raising public awareness of the benefits of watershed management for the sustainable development of the region.
- Identifying and implementing best practices in financial, institutional and integrated watershed management.
- Promote its members’ exemplary projects, actions and solutions.
