In the wake of the successful 10th World Water Forum, a follow-up meeting was organized in Jakarta, Indonesia, at the end of February. This gathering, attended by over 300 participants, aimed to ensure the continuity of actions and ideas as the global water community transitions from the 10th to the 11th World Water Forum. The event was marked by the presence of the United Nations Special Envoy on Water, Retno Marsudi, who emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in global water discussions.

The meeting focused on the overarching theme, “Water for Shared Prosperity,” and highlighted the need for a smooth transition of water-related actions and commitments from Bali to Riyadh. A significant milestone was the launch of the World Water Warriors Action Guide, which will serve as a foundational framework leading up to the 11th World Water Forum and beyond.

Discussions underscored the crucial tri-party collaboration between Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and the World Water Council. This partnership is essential in carrying forward efforts to key international gatherings, including the United Nations 2026 Water Conference. The meeting reinforced the importance of continuity in global water discussions and the need for collective action to address water challenges.

Reports of the 10th World Water Forum will soon be available on the World Water Council website.
