The International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO) has published its 2022-2024 activity report. Since its creation in 1994, INBO has worked to strengthen the capacities of basin organisations, promote transboundary cooperation and implement the principles of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) throughout the world.

To this end, INBO outlined its commitments in its 2024–2027 Action Plan and broke them down into three major thematic priorities: adaptation to climate change, biodiversity conservation, and transboundary cooperation.

Key achievements for the 2024-2026 time period

During this period, INBO focused its efforts on key strategic areas:

  • Water Information Systems (WIS)
  • Climate change adaptation and biodiversity preservation
  • Strenghtening of governance and transboundary cooperation
  • Experience and knowledge sharing between basin organisations
  • Satellite monitoring and spatial hydrology
  • Valorization and dissemination of knowledge
