What is the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region?
The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, as a territorial authority, plays a crucial role in water management through strategy development, project planning and financial support for initiatives aimed at preserving the quality and quantity of water resources. The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region was one of the co-organizers of INBO’s World General Assembly, held in Bordeaux in October 2024.

Who is Alain ROUSSET?
Alain Rousset is President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and was elected President of the Adour-Garonne Basin Committee in 2020. The Basin Committee, often referred to as the “water parliament”, brings together the various public and private players involved in water management in the Adour-Garonne basin. Its role is to debate and define, in a concerted manner, the major orientations of the policy for managing water resources and protecting aquatic environments.
