The Peer-to-Peer (P2P) project, funded by the European Union, is the first programme under the ‘Twin Basin Initiative’ led by the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO), with the support of the African Network of Basin Organisations (ANBO). Its objective is to strengthen integrated and sustainable water resources management (IWRM) by promoting cooperation and the sharing of experiences to develop the capacities of basin organisations.
In this context, a webinar dedicated to the fundamental approaches to IWRM was organised on 5 March 2026 in two sessions to cover different time zones.
This event aimed to strengthen exchanges and present methodological tools to improve water management at the basin level. It brought together representatives of P2P beneficiary peers, several organisations and regional officials from different continents, as well as international institutions involved in water governance, to promote dialogue, the sharing of good practices and cooperation among P2P project partners. In addition to the presentations given by the speakers, lively interactive discussions helped to identify both the contributions that peers can make to the P2P’s didactic curriculum and the capacity-building needs they expressed.
