The Joint Rivers Commission was established in 1972 by Bangladesh and India to strengthen transboundary cooperation in water management. The Commission supports the management of shared rivers, flood prevention, contributes to data sharing and promotes the equitable use of water resources.

Planning, hydrology, project management, procurement, etc. With more than 20 years of experience in the field of water management, where he has held various positions, Mohammad HOSSEN has been a member of the Joint Rivers Commission since January 2023.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering, followed by a Master’s degree in Water and Coastal Management from the University of Plymouth, and a PhD in Water Economics from the University of South Australia.

He regularly participates in numerous international conferences, both at home and abroad, and is a member of several professional and social organisations, including the International Water Association (IWA).
